About Art Space Honiton
The Aims of Art Space Honiton:
- To contribute to the artistic community and the wider cultural attraction of Honiton
- To improve the profile of both individual artists and groups
- To provide affordable space for artists to work.
- To increase awareness of all visual arts practice (contemporary and traditional) and crafters.
- To engage and include local businesses and galleries
- To enable members to exhibit and collaborate to develop and promote high quality professional practice.
- To support all local artists through group critiques, skill sharing, collaboration, classes and training.
- To offer services including printing, office administration, marketing and web promotion
The administration of this enterprise to be based on good business principals and practice in order that all members should benefit equally.
The center would enable access for the community to the skills of the artists and services to members (including good quality affordable work space, training, administrative support and marketing) and work opportunities while creating a high profile for the centre, its members and Honiton.
This would not be a retail outlet (all sales transactions and commissions of artist’s work to be carried out between the artist and the purchaser).
The outcomes of this venture are infinite and include the potential for increasing employment and self employment of its members.
